Special issue on Elder Mental Health edited by JEN team member
In July 2011, the Journal of Aging and Social Policy released a special issue (Volume 23) entitled devoted to elder mental health.
The special issue was edited by Darlene (Dee) O’Connor, Ph.D., Director of Strategic Alliances for JEN Associates in collaboration with
Laney Bruner-Canhoto , Ph.D., her colleague at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Dee is the lead author for the introduction, “Elder Mental Health: the Next Frontier” and a key article,
“Leveraging the PASRR Process to Divert and Transition Elders with Mental Illness from Nursing Facilities.”
Other articles have been written by noted experts in the field including Steve Bartels, MD, Gary Moak, MD, Bob Knight,
Ph.D. and Brian Kaskie, Ph.D. Dee is also co-author on the article by Frank Baskin on coalitions on mental health and aging.
