NESCSO partners with JEN for Regional Data Analytics!

The six New England States are each providing four years of Medicaid claims and enrollment data to JEN Associates in order to facilitate regional comparisons of health trends. JEN will de-identify and standardize the data and host it in its secure HIPAA/FISMA compliant data center. Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Medical School will conduct the analyses using JEN’s state-of-the-art user interface known as iMMRS®. The project will be overseen by the New England States Consortium Systems Organization (NESCSO). Analyses will be conducted for internal policy analysis purposes only and the decisions about which analyses to conduct will be made by a workgroup led by representatives of the Medicaid agencies from the six states.

This is the first known regional health analytics project involving Medicaid data. The project is in its pilot phase. Subject to the results of the pilot, the states may link-in Medicare data to expand the potential analyses. For further information, contact Dan Gilden at dmg@jen.com.
